prioritizing my well-being

This year, I promised myself I would take care of my body in every way possible. From eating healthier, to mindful movement- I plan to become the healthiest version of myself. I plan to better myself not just physically, but mentally as well Will it be easy? No. Will it be worth it? Definitely.

Why Wellness Matters To ME

I've realized that health isn't just about eating a salad or going to the gym a few times a week. It's about how you feel physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually. For me, wellness is becoming less about chasing perfection and more about creating habits that help me feel energized, balanced, and present in my everyday life.

Choosing Growth Over Perfection

I've spent a lot of time thinking about what kind of person I want to become, and one thing keeps coming back to me: I want to feel good in my own body. I want more energy, less stress, better routines, and a lifestyle that supports me instead of drains me. So rather than making a long list of unrealistic goals, I'm focusing on small, sustainable changes that I can actually stick with.

Here are some of the habits and practices I'm implementing as I work toward becoming the healthiest version of myself:

  • Prioritizing protein and whole foods with most meals

  • Drinking more water throughout the day

  • Taking daily walks, even if they're short

  • Spending more time outside and getting fresh air

  • Creating a consistent sleep routine

  • Limiting mindless scrolling and screen time

  • Reading more books and consuming less noise

  • Making time for hobbies that bring me joy

  • Practicing gratitude daily

  • Managing stress through prayer, journaling, or quiet time

  • Scheduling regular health appointments and checkups

  • Listening to my body instead of pushing through exhaustion

  • Keeping healthier snacks available at home

  • Focusing on progress instead of perfection

  • Spending more quality time with people who encourage and inspire me

  • Taking care of my mental health just as much as my physical health

What I’m Leaving Behind

As I focus on building healthier habits, I'm also learning that wellness isn't just about what you add to your life—it's about what you let go of. Some of the biggest changes I'm making have less to do with nutrition and workouts and more to do with the mindset I bring into each day.

Here are a few things I'm choosing to leave behind:

  • All-or-nothing thinking

  • Comparing my journey to someone else's

  • Waiting for the "perfect" time to start

  • Constantly feeling guilty for resting

  • Staying up later than my body wants to

  • Letting stress dictate my day

  • Negative self-talk

  • Consuming content that leaves me feeling drained

  • Ignoring my body's signals

Becoming healthier isn't about becoming a completely different person. It's about becoming more intentional, more balanced, and more in tune with what my body and mind need.

The Power Of Small Changes

One thing I'm learning is that wellness doesn't happen overnight. It's built through the small choices we make every day. Some days will be productive and healthy, and other days won't go exactly as planned. That's okay. The goal isn't to be perfect—it's to be consistent.

I also want this journey to be holistic. Being healthy means nourishing my body, but it also means caring for my mind, protecting my energy, strengthening my faith, and creating a life that feels meaningful. Health isn't just about how you look; it's about how you live.

Recipes I'm Loving Lately

One of my favorite parts of this journey is discovering simple meals that make healthy eating feel enjoyable rather than restrictive. These are a few recipes that have become staples in my routine lately:

Salmon Nourish Bowl

A nourishing meal packed with protein, healthy fats, vegetables, and fiber. This is one of my favorite lunches or dinners when I want something filling and balanced.

Protein Overnight Oats

Perfect for busy mornings and easy to prep ahead of time. I love adding berries, chia seeds, and a drizzle of peanut butter. A simple overnight oats recipe with several flavor ideas can be found from Fit Foodie Finds.

Honey Lime Salmon Bowls

Fresh, colorful, and packed with nutrients. These bowls are easy to customize with your favorite vegetables and grains. Check out Wellness Mama for more healthy recipes.

Healthy Smoothie Bowls

One of my favorite ways to add more fruit into my day. I love topping mine with granola, berries, and hemp seeds for extra texture and nutrients. Super quick and easy and also great for my sweet tooth!

Looking Ahead

At the end of the day, this journey isn't about becoming perfect—it's about becoming healthier, happier, and more intentional with the life I've been given.

I'm learning that wellness is found in the small choices we make every day: going for a walk when we don't feel like it, choosing foods that nourish our bodies, getting enough rest, moving with gratitude, and giving ourselves grace when things don't go according to plan.

There will be days when I'm motivated and days when I'm not. There will be healthy meals and takeout nights, productive mornings and slower seasons. But I'm committed to showing up for myself and focusing on consistency over perfection.

My hope is that this blog becomes a place where I can document the journey, share what I'm learning, celebrate the small wins, and hopefully inspire others to prioritize their own well-being along the way.

Here's to becoming the healthiest version of ourselves—one habit, one choice, and one day at a time.

xo,

Chloe
